INTRODUCTION
There are now many CBD oils on the market. It is not always easy to keep track of the CBD product jungle. To make this easier for you in the future, here are the most important points to consider when buying CBD Oiling should be summarised in a clear CBD buying guide:
WHAT FORM DOES THE CBD OIL TAKE
As mentioned, there are now many CBD oils on the market. The CBD extracts used sometimes differ greatly. The many terms in different languages often make the confusion complete.
Here is a brief overview:
Overview of the different CBD extracts used in CBD oils and their composition and origin.
CONTENTS
Which ingredients are listed on the packaging? There should always be a list of ingredients on the products, from which it is clear what the product contains and in what quantity.
The choice of words in the ingredients is often decisive: If, for example, 10% hemp extract is stated in the ingredients, this does not mean 10% CBD but probably means 10% of an extract from hemp which in turn could contain approx. 10% CBD. The actual content of CBD in the product mentioned would therefore only be 1%.
BE CAREFUL WITH PERCENTAGES!
In addition to the CBD content in per cent [%], every reputable product should also state the content in milligrams [mg]. This is particularly important as the percentage by mass always depends on the density of the carrier substance and can vary greatly even if the quantity remains the same. This becomes clear with an example: 1000mg CBD dissolved in 10ml water (density 1g/cm3) yields 10%, but dissolved in oil (density approx. 0.9g/cm3) yields 11% and dissolved in alcohol (density approx. 0.7g/cm3), the same amount of CBD yields almost 13% by mass. The total mass [mg] of CBD is therefore always important for the assessment of liquid CBD products. This is binding and manufacturers should adhere to it. More on this under the Contribution to the K-tipp test!
CBD Oil PRICE!
The price differences between the various suppliers and CBD oils are enormous. The easiest way to do this is to compare the prices in CHF per gram of CBD contained. As the expensive CBD is always the main cost factor of these products, it is easy to do the maths. In the recently published K-Tipp article, 20 different products are tested. The prices range from the cheapest (our CBD Oil Pure 16%) at 55.60 CHF/g to the most expensive at 99.90CHF/g (see K-Tip test / price comparison).
It may therefore be worth taking out your pocket calculator to compare the prices of the various CBD oils. (Our oils are made exclusively from the highest quality Swiss ingredients according to the highest quality standards. So even with high-quality oils, there is no good reason why some oils should be almost twice as expensive as comparable products).
EXPIRY DATE AND LOT NUMBER
Reputable products should always be labelled with an expiry date and a lot. Number for labelling and traceability. Pay attention to the expiry date, as CBD oils typically have a shelf life of around two years. If the product has been in the shop for longer, the expiry date may soon be reached.
CARRIER MATERIAL
What kind of carrier is the product to be assessed based on? What kind of oil is the extract dissolved in? Some oils are of higher quality than others. Cheap industrial oil from abroad is often used in cheap CBD products.
